Chelsea Women face a major European test away to Lyon in the UEFA Women's Champions League on Wednesday. The match kicks off at 8pm BST at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais and will be streamed live on Disney+ in the UK.

Sonia Bompastor's side enter the contest in strong form, sitting third in the FA Women's Super League with 10 points from four games. They are on a four-match winning run in all competitions, most recently beating Arsenal 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a 39th-minute goal from Alyssa Thompson. That victory was their fourth consecutive clean sheet.

Chelsea began their Champions League league phase with a 1-0 win over Austria Wien, secured by a goal from Wieke Kaptein. Lyon, meanwhile, opened their European campaign with an emphatic 8-0 victory over Servette. The French side's attack is potent, having scored 30 goals in four matches this season.

The trip could see Chelsea come up against former winger Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, who joined Lyon in the summer. Chelsea's own attack has been shared around, with eight different players having found the net this season. Lauren James leads the way with two goals in three WSL appearances.

This is one of three away European fixtures in the group stage for Chelsea. Their focus will then shift back to the domestic league and a trip to face West Ham on Sunday, October 4.
