Chelsea Women have announced that starting next season, the first team will play their domestic cup competition home matches at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, home of AFC Wimbledon. This decision comes as part of a new multi-year agreement, allowing the club to manage complex fixture schedules while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. From the 2026/27 season, all Women’s Super League home matches will continue to be held at Stamford Bridge, but domestic cup and any qualifying home European league-phase matches will take place at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. The venue, which has a capacity of 9,000, is purpose-built and highly accessible, making it a suitable alternative for Chelsea Women’s fixtures. Nadia Shahrestani, the business operations director at Chelsea Women, expressed excitement about the move, emphasizing the importance of providing an inclusive and convenient venue for fans. The club looks forward to creating memorable experiences at the new ground while maintaining a strong relationship with AFC Wimbledon, with whom they previously shared Kingsmeadow. This strategic decision aims to build attendances for competition matches over time, ensuring that Chelsea Women continue to thrive in the Women’s Super League and beyond.
