Chelsea Women Strengthen Midfield with Dragoni Transfer
Chelsea Women have bolstered their squad by finalizing the permanent transfer of 19-year-old Italian midfielder Giulia Dragoni, who had previously spent time on loan at Roma. The move comes after a successful loan spell where Dragoni demonstrated her potential and adaptability in the English Women's Super League (WSL).
Dragoni joined FC Barcelona in January 2023 from Inter Milan to strengthen their reserve team. During this period, she made her first-team debut during the 2023/24 season, making ten appearances and scoring one goal. Her performances caught the eye of Chelsea Women, leading to a permanent transfer agreement.
Dragoni's Journey to Chelsea
The young midfielder’s journey began with Inter Milan before moving to FC Barcelona in January 2023. During her time at Barça B, she honed her skills and gained valuable experience. Her loan spell at Roma allowed Dragoni to gain exposure to the WSL and showcased her capabilities on a higher level.
Chelsea Women are excited about adding Dragoni to their squad. Manager Emma Hayes commented, 'We're delighted to welcome Giulia to Chelsea. She brings a lot of energy and technical ability to our midfield and we look forward to seeing what she can contribute in the coming seasons.'
With Dragoni's addition, Chelsea Women aim to continue their strong performances both domestically and in European competitions. The young player is eager to make an impact and help the team achieve its goals.
